About Laura

Laura Williams, OrganisedWell

Hi, I’m Laura Williams (my pronouns are she/her)! An organised working mum (well most of the time!), runner, night owl, coffee drinker, who butters toast right to the corners and loves a good spreadsheet! I have a passion for common sense and order and believe in a place for everything and everything in its place (and yes my house is still a work in progress!).

I know how it feels to be overwhelmed.

Until 2017, I was juggling too many commitments, dis-organised and struggling to keep up. I rushed from here to there, stressed-out, never living in the moment or giving anyone my full attention. I wasn’t as productive as I could have been and definitely wasn’t happy.

Then I found that a good tidy-up (of a room or cupboard, desk or to do list) helped me regain a sense of control and made me feel ready to face the world again. Now having the right systems in place saves me time, enables me to focus on the important things (and people) in my life. I feel calmer and in control.

Now I use my experience to help others declutter.

My service gives people time back to spend on doing things they want to do. I help them to regain space and discover hidden gems in busy rooms and overstuffed wardrobe (did you know that the average woman wears just 40% of the clothes in her wardrobe!). Our finds sometimes help fund new seasonal key purchases through selling unwanted items and clothes.

I can be your helping hand; providing a calm, logical approach, a non-judgemental, sensitive and practical support to help you achieve your goal. (But I’m not a psychologist or a therapist, and I won’t be analysing your behaviour).

So what’s my background?

I have a degree in behavioural sciences; a second degree in personnel and development; and during my 18+ year career in HR, I supported and coached people to achieve their goals. I draw on my background, the skills I’ve learned, research and approaches that have helped me; to help people let go of their (physical and mental) clutter and create a calmer life.

Just so you know, I am a member of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (I know, who knew right!), and subscribe to their code of conduct. I am insured, registered with the Information Commissioners Office and have a DBS check (old CRB). Details are available upon request.

My training includes: Hoarding Awareness for Professional Practitioners with Hoarding Disorders UK, ADHD for Organisers with Free Your Space, Mental Health Intervention with Harmless.

I also contribute to articles, run workshops and speak on the subject of decluttering.
